Mantra Technologies

Mantra Energy Alternatives Ltd., a subsidiary of Mantra Venture Group Ltd., is a clean technology development company. Mantra Energy is currently developing to commercialization two novel, environmentally beneficial electrochemical technologies: ERC (Electro-Reduction of CO2), a process for converting carbon emissions into valuable chemicals; and MRFC (Mixed-Reactant Fuel Cell), an innovative, low-cost fuel cell. Both technologies were invented by Professor Colin Oloman at the University of British Columbia.

In addition to having strong independent business cases, these two technologies can also be integrated together to provide a novel energy storage solution.

Short-term Goals

In order to successfully commercialize these revolutionary technologies, Mantra Energy is working toward the following short-term goals:

While Mantra has successfully demonstrated its technologies on a small scale, the company is currently working to deploy pilot-scale demonstrations in industrial environments. It will be the first company to do so for both ERC and MRFC.
The processes will continually be refined and improvements will be made ready to test on the pilot scale. New, protected intellectual property will be developed for upstream and downstream process aspects.
The ERC process will be diversified to produce new chemical products from CO2, while the MRFC technology will be adapted for new industrial applications.
Mantra Energy’s already influential group of partners will be expanded to bring even more resources and skills to the development of these technologies.
The Mantra Energy team will continue to grow as new skill sets are required to achieve the company’s objectives.
